Chana Aloo Chaat Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup white chickpeas (soaked overnight and boiled)
  • 1 large potato (boiled and cut into small cubes)
  • 1 small tomato (cut into cubes)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • ¼ tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp crushed coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp red chili flakes
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 4-6 curry leaves
  • 1 large green chili (finely chopped)
  • 3 tbsp tamarind pulp
  • Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add curry leaves. Sauté until fragrant.
  2. Add chopped tomato and cook for a minute until slightly soft.
  3. Pour in the tamarind pulp and add all the spices (cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili flakes, chaat masala, and salt). Cook until the oil separates.
  4. Add water and bring it to a boil.
  5. Mix in the boiled chickpeas and potatoes. Cook until the water dries up, allowing the flavors to blend well.
  6. Garnish with chopped green chili and fresh coriander leaves.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy this tangy, spicy Chana Aloo Chaat at Iftar!
